He had just defeated Andre Berto in a knockdown-filled brawl that ended up being that year's consensus 'Fight of the Year.' Ortiz was celebrated as one of big Mexican-American stars in the sport and seemed to do no wrong.

Me too, he will not make it till the end. I wish he would win this one though, because he is a good fighter and always in good fights.

he'll be using face lube instead of Vaseline in this fight between rounds.

I think Berto is the 'real fighter'......Ortiz had only been able to get it together for an occasional fight. He rarely gives a full performance. And I still can't get the Maidana fight out of my head.......that was a long time ago but the dude straight quit and wondered aloud about whether he was in the right place. I think he got up for Berto because he had nothing to lose.

Now Ortiz seems to have other options if he decides it's getting too tough which makes me question his commitment even more. And this time around, Berto has a real trainer........I'll take Berto TKO within 10. I just hope Ortiz brings his balls to make it as good as their first fight.

Berto takes a lot of **** but really, besides Floyd, he lost to two quality opponents fighting above their typical level. And particularly with Ortiz it was close. Berto has the tools......he has the right trainer......if he stays active he stands the much better chance of doing something real.........Ortiz is in it for the short-game......

I would love a full-on brawl like their first fight. But Berto is the better more consistent fighter.........losing to Floyd by wide UD is nothing to be ashamed of. Ortiz quits too much........he's not the typs of guy that can fight through adversity unless his heart is in it.......it's hard to believe him but when he is on, he can bring exciting fights.

Berto in 10 or less.......he can still compete at the higher levels of WW and this IS his job. Ortiz has 'movie options'.....LOL......
