DERRICK JAMES ON AMERICAN FIGHTERS NOT GETTING SUPPORT:
If I go over to Germany to fight, I would be the opponent and looked at as the guy going over there to lose by their fans, the networks, and their media. And in the back of their minds, they would all be rooting against me to lose. But we as Americans, we accept the American fighters that we have, but we make Pacquiao a star. We trying to make Triple G a star and Kovalev a star and Tyson Fury a star. We're trying to make all of these foreigners into stars and we have American fighters right here in America that have phenomenal talent and phenomenal gifts, yet we look other places to validate foreign fighters over our own. In every other sport and every other aspect in American life, this doesn't exist, but why does it exist in boxing?
We try to find somebody to be a star and, oh, just so happens he's not American. What is that about? You think about this, look how many Americans were rooting against Dominic Wade this past weekend, hoping Triple G would knock him out and keep his streak going. You look at a guy like Andre Ward, who was the last American to win a Gold Medal, meaning he is the last male fighter from your country to wear that USA on his chest and win the whole damn thing, yet, he is the most criticized fighter on the planet now that Floyd Mayweather is retired. What is that about? I really don't get it. Andre Ward is not the first nor last fighter who will be inactive due to promotional issues or injuries, but I look at how they talk about this American hero, this American star, as if he's some fly by night guy. This guy represented this country well and to this day, he represents the sport of boxing well and he is the most criticized fighters on the planet. So we have to get behind American fighters and continue to love America and try to make this country better and make boxing better and bring it back to where it was and I think that's what Al Haymon is doing, so just watch out for that.

Lara: I thought it was a draw. Better boxer than anyone on GGG's list.

Cotto: Good win, Hall-of-fame fighter that GGG was also trying to fight.
No need to evaluate GGG's last 5. Only Lemieux was a good win over a quality fighter. Canelo has a much better resume, and he's only 25! Wins over Lara and Cotto speak for themselves. Even a loss to Mayweather does not tarnish his resume. How old was he then? 20?
True fan boy right here.

You're just being annoying.
Golovkin never had a title and never fought above 160, so he never had to fight Ward.
On the other hand, Canelo has been fighting at 155 (btw 154-160) his last 4 fights, has a 160 belt, Golovkin is his mando, so obviously, he's being called out by fans to fight GGG.
Ward and his ex flumos/wardtards should focus on Kovalev and shut the fck up.
I don't really see Ward that eager to fight Kovalev soon if ever...

I'm not sure how anyone can ignore the statement that GGG's Team said he would fight anyone from 154-168..I mean...its right here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAXJK6jiRu4. You cannot run from that. You cannot disclaimer that.
As a boxing fan, I simply want to see him face some actual opposition. Ffs, Dominic Wade???? I honestly only tuned in to see who the dude was. This unknown mandatory BS needs to stop.
I want to see Canelo vs GGG...In my opinion, they're two of the most overhyped fighters in the game. Surely, they both can punch, they both have boxing prowess....but man...Their resumes aren't that great, with Canelo having the slightly better resume.
At the end of the day, we can sit back and say that GGG ducked a bunch of fights. The corresponding argument will always be that the available opposition didn't want to fight him. I can guarantee you that GGG knows the other top names at MW. At the conclusion of his destruction of Wade, he could have very well said he wanted a big fight against Danny Jacobs, Peter Quillin, Andy Lee, BJ Saunders- if Canelo didn't want to fight...Instead he opted not to.
Canelo- same thing.
When it's all said and done...the Middleweight class is UP TO 160 pounds. Canelo should very well just let the dude fight at his 160 limit, allow himself to fight at his 155 weight and that's that. You're going to rehydrate beyond anyones wildest dreams anyway.
So I say, once again, now that Mayweather is out of game- these 2 are the "Saving grace" for attracting the casual fan base to the sport. Overhyped, overappreciated, glorified knockout artists.
I'd be willing to bet money that the Charlo brothers can beat them both...maybe even the Dirrell boys!

There are still things like finances, promotional issues, scheduling, sanctioning body conflicts, network conflicts, that in the REAL world have to be dealt with. Being willing to fight anyone from 154-168 is one thing. Its an entirely different matter to actually get those fights made. Its easier said than done.....
