Comments Thread For: Lomachenko's Manager Reacts To Gary Russell's Rematch Demand

After blowing out Patrick Hyland on April 16th on Showtime, WBC featherweight titlist Gary Russell Jr. (27-1, 16KOs) stated that Vasyl Lomachenko (5-1, 3KOs) - who had beaten him in June of 2014 when they clashed for the vacant WBO crown - had to come and ''see me'' in regards to a rematch in the near future.

I would rather see Loma vs. Walters @ 130, or LOma vs. Rigo @ 126, before I see a rematch. Russell Jr. needs to focus on Selby and Mares vs. Cuellar winner.

I would like Russell vs Pedraza or Uchiyama.

A rematch with Russell isn't the worst thing in the world if there's good money involved. I'd rather see that than a fight Rocky Martinez to be honest.

Lomachenko absolutely SCHOOLED Russell, there's not a single reason for a rematch.

A rematch is not warranted for Russell/Loma. Now if Russell moves up and gets into position as Loma's #1 challenger they can fight. But his rematch demand is ridiculous.

Loma beat him very easily. Russell should've fought harder and better the 1st time.

Both Lom and Russell are special talents. I'd rather see Russell collect more championships. I can see him beating a number of champs with that lightning speed and crushing power.

Pretty much this. I don't have a problem with rematches when they are justified, but at this point it makes no sense. With Loma heading to 130 there are a lot of fights that I would much rather see him in.

To be fair, Russell been calling for a rematch since his loss. I would like to see the rematch, as I am curious as what type of adjustments Russell can make to change the result. Fast hands and slow feet aren't really effective with a slick fighter like Loma.
