  • Honest Question. Would Floyd sell out The Forum against a Wade-esque opponent?

Would Floyd Mayweather be able to sell out a large venue in L.A. like The Forum or the Staples Center against a Wade type opponent?

The Forum seats 17,500 for boxing.

Staples Center seats around 20,000 for boxing.

    Would he?

And that was in the boxing capital of the world. In L.A. I don't think anyone would care about that fight.

It's interesting how Golovkin has been able to captivate the minds of so many people in the L.A. area.

Thats the easy part keeping them for 20 yrs is the hard part , GGG is the man of the moment and hasnt fought anyone , casuals will flock too power punchers like flys to a cow turd , you watch when GGG gets beat which will only happen if he dares to be great otherwise we have a glorified Butterbean but the casuals will love it , and they love it because its easy to understand what is going on with brutal KOes , they dont care if its bums , give them a FM or Ward or Pernal Rigo type and they have no clue what they are seeing they think its running lol .

I can tell you havent followed boxing very long have you , a guy with your kinda posts said to me he has only been watching boxing for a few yrs I get the same impression with you .

It's all about ticket prices mate, with small charges you can fill any stadium even with little advertisement.

I was beaten to it but yeah, price point is key. Mayweather-Berto's 13,395 tickets sold, $10 million live gate is surely way more than GGG vs Wade's gate.

Mayweather-Berto tickets were $125-$1,500...if GGG vs Wade was priced this way, that would have been interesting, since K2's main point of GGG's popularity is his ticket sales.

Prices were $30-$400 for GGG vs Wade.
