Comments Thread For: Arroyo: I Proved I'm at That Level, Stopped Chocolatito KO Streak

McWilliams Arroyo is disappointed with Saturday's defeat, but he's still very pleased with his performance. A very big underdog coming in, Arroyo went the full twelve round distance with the boxer many regard as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the world, WBC flyweight world champion Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez.

Arroyo was underappreciated before, during and after the fight. A shame really.

He shouldn't get another title shot right away though. Let him fight someone decent like Viloria first.

Arroyo had a decent feel out first round, but after that Chocolatito utterly schooled him. It wasn't even close. I guess Arroyo has something to be happy about since he went the distant and not getting KO'ed. Besides not getting knocked out he was never even close to being in the fight.

He proved he can hang on and go the distant which considering it was against chocolatito is a victory in itself but that's the only good that came out of it for him.

He's a tough guy and a good fighter that's for sure. But Roman looked a little half-assed, he didn't have the power and enthusiasm he usually has, when he turned it up he got through the guard and beat on him.

He fought well. It was a good, competitive fight ruined by HBO's terrible commentary. They don't even do play by play anymore. It's all 3 minutes of a prerehearsed script selling the house fighter to the audience.

I like Arroyo, but don't see him being on Gonzalez' level. He lost almost every round, was chased around the ring by Roman and even punch stats confirmed that Roman dominated.

Arroyo fought his ass off. Chocolate was just better. There is a such thing as having a good performance in a loss and that's what happened on Saturday
