If Khan wins, Virgil's the best in the business.

If he's able to get Khan to become better defensive, and avoid those big shots for 12 rounds, I'd say Virgil's the best trainer in the business.

    Thoughts?

He gets credit already for what he is, if Khan wins it proves he's the real deal.

Best in the business? Who knows

Agree. I hate Hunter, just like I hate Roach and Abel, but they're good coaches.

I actually like Hunter, his interviews are always good and he gives some solid advice, its up the the fighters to follow his gameplan

          Roach sounds like a ****

Abel is a good guy as well

I can't stand Roach and Floyd Sr, these guys are borderline psychos

He will deserve credit but so far overall I think he's made Khan worse, over complicates things hasn't helped other fighters. I don't think he sees what makes fighters good tries to get them all to fight like Andre ward

Virgil is the best regardless of this outcome. In fact when Khan is knocked out it won't detract one iota from Virgil. This is the fight Khan wanted so he could retire and live comfortably, hence the reasons he's fought non punchers since Danny KTFO of Khan.

I think Jackson is a close second but he's more to prove just yet.

I don't rate Roach anymore and Sanchez is a clown.

What has hunter done for people to rate him so highly he talks well but that's about the height of it

My thoughts are he is already considered one of the best trainers in boxing. Most top trainers have their boxers in many fights each year. No one single fight win like Khan beating Canelo is going to make him automatically the best trainer in boxing. What if several other boxers he trains lose important fights in the same year? To be considered the best trainer in boxing I think a trainer needs to consistently have the fighters he trains win the majority of their fights. One big win won't do it. I am pretty sure Khan will get knocked out and it won't be Hunter's fault. Khan just isn't good enough to beat Canelo no matter who trains him.

I've never been totally impressed with Hunter. I give him a lot of credit for Ward who is excellent, but i've never really seen any evidence of another fighter going to work with him and improving a lot. Also he never seems to give any useful advice between rounds. He just does these little motivational speeches rather than actually any advice about the fight taking place.

But if Khan does go through the Canelo fight and looks very good defensively, then i will give Hunter big credit.
