Agreed. We know Ward's resume and this basically says he's still the same top-tier guy. Kovalev's resume is far weaker but beating Ward would essentially tell us that Sergei is truly as good as he seems.

I think Kovalev will win by KO and be recognized by the majority as the number 1 pound for pound fighter in boxing. Gonzalez and GGG will probably continue to win all their fights in great style so they will always be in the pound for pound race unless they lose or look bad in a fight which hasn't happened yet. There are too many different good fighters with big fan bases for pound for pound number 1 to ever be unanimous.
