The only thing that bothers me was the 164 catch weight demand for Ward. If you want to prove yourself against Ward don't drain him to do it.

I don't get this whole Ward match up, Ward will have a size advantage, added with his skills. GGG will have a hard time with Ward. Also GGG haters say Ward beats him easy so why watch a mismatch? Its almost like they want him to fight Ward just to see him lose and call him a bum, even though Ward beats almost every fighter close to his weight class.Comment

Don't bother man, "lil g" is the new Pac and Ward is the new Floyd. Race wars knows no boundaries.GGG explained himself clearly, but none of you seemed to listen.
He said exactly what he's been saying for years - his focus is on middleweight.
He explained that he wanted Cotto because he held a MW belt, and he wants Canelo because he holds a MW belt.
Of course many of you are upset because he acts like any other boxer (ie in certain circumstances he'd take a fight above or below his natural weight class). For some reason this upsets you guys.Comment

Ward was allegedly a 168 pounder even though he could no longer make the weight. There was 8 pounds between 168 and 160 so 164 was fair to both guys, especially since Ward wanted the fight in his own hometown.
People say it's not fair that lil g tried to drain Ward yet it's fair that lil g moves up to another division and takes on the best guy in his first bout?
Funny how when Ward officially declared himself a 175 guy, he needs multiple tune ups to fight the best guy there and people are cool with it.
Why don't people just come out and say what they mean? They only want to see lil g lose, no matter how it happens.Last edited by mathed; 04-24-2016, 10:58 AM.Comment

I like GGG but he and his team need to be CONSISTENT! I agree with some of the other post, you can't say "Kell Brook Too Small" but then say "I Want To Fight Mayweather!"
I know his English is not great I get that but Come On Now!

I think he's been managed poorly. Thing is he has no options now. His team caused him to be outmaneuvered. Canelo is not going to fight him. His only option is Ward and they embarrassed themselves with the 164 demand when they refuse to go down for Canelo. He's going to be stuck at 160 fighting nobody.Ward was allegedly a 168 pounder even though he could no longer make the weight. Nobody discusses Brook and GGG "meeting in the middle" at 154 (which kind of makes sense, since Brook is 147) Brook wants to move up all the way to 160. In this context he is indeed "too small". For Mayweather being the best in the sport, GGG was willing to come down to 154, where Myweather held the belt... Therefore the issue of Mayweather being smaller was solved in this scenario. Here... Did I clear this out for you?Comment
