Agreed, on all counts. I enjoyed the beat down and then came here and the Golovkin devotees just ruined it by acting as if this was the Thrillla in Manila..

Kids, enjoy the can crushing but don't embarrass yourselves by elevating this as being more than a mismatch. Genady did nothing wrong.. He didn't do anything spectacular either.

Yeah I agree. The only reason they can make these ****** threads is because he really hasn't fought anyone with a big name but reality is big names don't wanna fight him. He felt Wades power tonight and it didn't mean anything to him, he basically went straight for the KO. We all know he can box when he needs to like he did against Lemieux. He would handle Canelo with the same respect.

I won't even rehash any of the big names that didn't pan out for him. I'm pretty sure boxing is still a business, and if his team wanted a big fight with Canelo they could simply fatten the pot to make it happen. Should the Canelo fight happen, will that one fight be enough to cement his legacy? The truth is that the middleweight division has been garbage for over thirty years. Nobody gave two ****s when Hopkins unified the middleweight division. It was barely seen as an accomplishment due to how weak the division was. And not much has changed since then.

...as well as Jacobs and Saunders. It's only when he doesn't respect the opponent that he gets sloppy. It's time to put him back in there with someone relevant.

Regardless of how weak the division is, that doesn't mean he purposefully picked bad opposition, which is what a cherry picker means. And he can only do with the situation around him. It's not his fault his division ******. And in prior years, he volunteered to face the 154 and 168 champs as long as they were big money fights.

Not true at all Trinidad made the tournament significant. I guess you're twelve but the tournament was to crown Trinidad as the undisputed champion. Popkins put a monkey wrench in that plan.

I actually didn't include Trinidad since his only middleweight fight prior to Hopkins was Joppy. I've always considered Tito as a welterweight, or at least that's the division I watched him fight most in.

Let's see, so far I've been called ******ed...a twelve year old...I need to wake up...salty. All funny considering that people how know nothing about boxing, often tell me that it's all fixed. When pressed on their view, they site that throwing an overmatched opponent in the ring is the same as fixing a fight. Claim mandatory's and everyone is scared all you want...and in the end he'll still be a man that feeds on overmatched opponents.

I think GGG is the new "can man" because all he does is fight cans lol. The guy can punch and has above average boxing skill but he is no atg middleweight.
