I watched the same thing happen with Ward. Almost everyone was down on him, polls had 90% picking Kovalev, etc. Now, he's on the scene again and it's all 50/50.

I don't understand why Mexican fighters get hated on when they prefer the defensive style of using proper foot movement and hitting while not getting hit. There's no doubt he'll get some hate for teaming up with TMT, but let's be honest this is a good career move for him. He's always idolized Floyd and his defensive prowess. It's not like Mikey is going to leave the RGBA and train full time at the MW Boxing Club anyway. I'm sure Floyd's gym will be open to him whenever he's in Vegas though. Even a more defensive Mikey won't be boring. He's always had that KO power, so the knockouts will continue. He'll just set them up even better than before.
