Don't know, they both great talents but Ward is a bigger man and is more experienced, would have probably beat him at that point.

Ward has been through those "unification superfights" in the super six tournament facing established world champions in Froch, Kessler then Dawson.

GGG needs to beat the Jacobs, Quillin and Alvarez before taking such a task as Ward.

The same man who is now 51, but your hero is actually considering fighting @ 168 this year. Of course B-Hop will drop down from 175, a 7lb. drop (not 5lbs.) after fighting Kovalev, and fight GGG, because that's what champs do! And wasn't your hero calling out a 39 yr. old welterweight as recent as this week?

I just hope we don't see him fighting B-Hop @ 168, when he could have fought Ward @ 168!

          Would be good fights.

But he doesn't have to go down to 154 in order to do that.

GGG has done 14 defenses and YES very few notables names to make an ATG case.

Hopkins was kinda in that position until he unified with Holmes, Trinidad and DLH.

I hope GGG will get those fights soon.
I'm not saying GGG has to go to 154, but given the choice for a big fight, do you think those guys would go up to 155 to fight Canelo, or to 160 for GGG? My point is that since GGG has very limited options, and an already weak resume, going to 155 for Canelo makes a lot of sense!

I'm so sick of these GGG articles that talk about how he is the most avoided fighter in the game ... he is the most avoided fighter that does not want to fight Ward or Lara.
Oh my god, I'm super done. Lara exposed Canelo? You can't make this ish up.

Why would GGG fight the middlweight champion at 155? Just admit canelo is scared to fight him wants to drain him to have any advantage possible. Canelo is the MW champ and is scared to fight at that weight.

OK, i'll say it! Canelo is scared because he wants a catch-weight. Oscar was scared because he wanted a catch-weight (Hopkins). Floyd was scared because he wanted a catch-weight (he didn't ask Cotto). Pacquiao was scared because he wanted a catch-weight (Cotto). Cotto was scared because he wanted a catch-weight (Martinez). Oscar, Mayweather, Pacquiao, and Cotto will all be scared little very rich b*tches in the Hall of Fame. Meanwhile GGG is still fighting Dominic Wade tomorrow! He's the best! Lol!

Why are you changing the subject and bringing up those fighters? They have nothing to do with the discussion, mayweather for example isnt wrong for wanting a catchweight because he is the smaller guy usually and is a welterweight. Canelo is a middleweight champion holding the MW belt yet hes asking for an unecessary catchweight against a guy in his weight class. Its pointless lmao he just wants to drain him or avoid the fight altogether asking for a dumb ass demand like that. hes not the smaller guy, he is the champion at 160 and wants to fight a 160 challenger at a 155 catchweight for no reason. There is really no way you can defend canelo unless youre a fanboy.

You mean he called out the former 2x, unified, lineal champ at Sww. Why would that bother you? Maybe you don't think Floyd is a good champ, cause the only time he agreed to drop in weight, he didn't bother making the CW!
