  • Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder: Martin Could Have Got Up, He Didn't Want To Fight

Deontay Wilder was in his usual jovial mood while holding court at Skyy Boxing Gym in his hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It's where he's trained ever since first lacing up gloves as a teenager but was presented with a different element during a media workout earlier in the week.

He probably could have, but he knew the writing was on the wall because Joshua right hand was money and he had no answer for it.

I hope both wilder and fury win so we can see this clash between them. Im sure they both can easily sell the fight. Anyway whatever you say about Wilder's resume... he is a very likeable guy.

Wilder getting KTFO by Povetkin so he should focus on that and forget Martin

This was actually a decent interview. Dontaesboxingnation I think.

He looks a little bigger too.

Nice interview, though I can't help but feel it's a bit rich for Wilder to be accusing another champ's opponent of taking the easy way out, considering the way the Scott fight went down. Still, Martin was an embarrassment and deserves to be criticised by anyone and everyone for his shockingly pathetic effort. And judging by the way he's now spending his money I wouldn't be shocked to see him penniless in a very short time. He should enjoy this moment while it lasts. It'll be gone before he knows it.

I'm a big fan of Povetkin. Thought the Sauerland bros did great with him and I really enjoy his fights and his style. I used heavily favor him, but now I'm leaning towards Wilder. He's improved and he's embraced his role as champ. I also have been noticing a change in his demeanor. Watching his training clips, he works hard. Still a very even fight. I'm not sure if I'm beginning to root for Wilder, but I think he'll rise to the occasion. If he wins, he's the man
