Amir Khan vs Errol Spence Jr. - Who wins?

Intriguing matchup. Two fighters with amateur and Olympic pedigree, similar heights, similar weights, same reach, both fast. Orthodox vs Southpaw style.

If you go by the route of triangle theories, then Spence should beat Khan comfortably after his demolition job on Chris Algieri.

But,

1) Has Spence fought someone with a high work rate, punch output and speed like Amir Khan?
2) Khan has never lost a single clear round against a southpaw. McCloskey, Judah, Collazo and Alexander, Khan beat all these southpaws with relative ease.

Both fighters have a lot of respect for each other with Khan congratulating Spence after his win over Algieri, and Spence Jr believing that Khan beats Canelo.

But respect for each other will go out the window if the two do fight with each other. I see Khan beating by Spence Jr. by, SD or Spence Jr. by the way of late stoppage.

Spence is a hype job, will be lucky to win a title

Khan beats Spence.

Khan does VERY well against Southpaws and Spence has shown that he vulnerable to that straight right. Khan is very quick and will be able to land that. Spence has good bodyshots but Khan isn't really vulnerable there.

Although just like all of Khans fights, he can be KO'd by someone like Spence, simply due to him having respectable power and has good size on him but if Khan fights like he can, he can win a UD.

It's an interesting style match-up. I think Spence might be capable of knocking Khan out. Amir can certainly be touched at 147 and Erroll is very big at the weight. He's a precise power puncher and he seems to have decent timing.

Khan's flurries are a problem for anyone in the division. He's always in great shape, he makes opponents work to get to him, and he's rangy too. Given that Spence has looked like he has heavy feet in the past, that he's not particularly fast, and that his defence his suspect there is an argument for Khan. Amir has had trouble when he's been on the attack and gets wreckless, like with Danny. But he showed against Maidana that you won't get rid of him easily if you're the one doing the chasing.

There are question marks over Spence that make Khan a reasonable pick in this fight. But I would go with Spence. A big puncher with his technique has a great chance of getting to Khan and finishing him over 12 rounds.

Bad bad fight for Amir

Errol is an educated pressure fighter who will also beat Amir up at range

I think Spence would easily beat Khan and knock him out. I think Spence is better than Khan in every way. If Khan beats Canelo then clearly I have underestimated Khan and I would pick Khan to beat Spence. I give Khan almost no chance of beating Canelo or even lasting into the late rounds. Spence has hand speed as fast as Khan but his punches are so much harder and more accurate. His average punch output per round is 71 and that's a lot more punches than Khan averages per round. Khan's chin cannot hold up against a big puncher with fast accurate punches. Spence's chin has never really been tested but he has never been hurt yet so his chin is probably good. My pick is Spence by KO in 6 rounds or less.
