Did Spence chat smack about Pacquiao, or did he answer the questions presented to him?

Anyway, fighters will do what they're going to do to raise their brand. I will roll my eyes at them trying to slap their name next to a notable figure, but I will respect the hustle. What I cannot respect is those fighters turning down fights that will put their name on the map.

I had no problem with what Spence said. It's not like it wasn't something we didn't know, Pac doesn't cut off the ring well, so what. Man if Spence pointing out the obvious upset some of you, I'd hate to see you losing your crap when people on here have posted the same thing

Its bad form. You can't call out a guy who announced his retired & not make me think your being a lil dumb. I tend to think call outs in general feel forced or much ado about nothing most of the time doe.

I suppose for Spence with how shaky Manny's retirement speech went post fight it seemed a lil iffy or unclear so I can't fault him too much there. Plus it was last week or whatever. I think there is a grace period in effect with retirements/call outs. Like if a guy called out Mayweather a couple weeks after his last fight I can't fault them too much, but if they call him out at this point thats for sure bad form. Although having said that I think Manny had a pass to call out Floyd past Sept. with his & Floyd's legendary status in the sport so no bad form call on Manny.

I don't know why some of you cant notice the arrogance in a statement when many can, its not really hiding from you either

Not cool, and Spence didn't call Pac out in any way, shape, or form.

I'm of the mind that if you're in that game and you're going to be talking shyt, do it to someone who you can actually fight. Probably the way I was raised or something. I don't like guys calling out people who are retired or 2 weight classes away (like the new interview w/ Golovkin calling out Mayweather again *yawn*). Doesn't get me angry, it just doesn't impress me at all.

On the other hand, I understand how these interviews go. Boxers do not have the wit of a politician and don't know how to avoid the traps that a journalist can set in an interview.
I think knowing when -not- to talk is something that impresses me and I really respect Andre Ward in that regard. Exceptionally bright and insightful guy who can talk, but shies away from the drama. Might hurt him financially, but I respect it anyhow.

Spence was asked a question and he gave the answer which is what his trainer was telling him in camp. He wants to fight Brook and the Thurman/Porter winner.

Golovkin calling out Mayweathee is laughable but Ill give him a pass because his next fight sucks and TMZ needed material that people will actually watch/read.

                  It's laziness.

Nothing impressive about it. Fans and boxing media promote it as well.

i think is silly but at the same time i still think that manny and floyd will fight at least one more time, maybe not against each other but one more fight each

I don't think it is. If a boxer like Mayweather or Pacquiao says he is retired then he is retired. Asking him to fight is calling him a liar. Leave the retired fighters alone. If they change their mind and announce a comeback then challenge them to a fight. Some boxers only challenge big name retired fighters because they will make lots of money when they lose.
