They have, which is very true but GGGs ambition is to hold all the belts at 160lb. Cyrrently he holds a portion of the WBC belt, the WBA belt (Jacobs doesn't matter) and the IBF belt. There is only the WBO left and the lineal. Hopkins spent close to 15 years at 160 chasing all the belts. Was he not a great fighter before the Tarver fight?

He gets hit way too much and looks pedestrian when his opponent doesn't simply choose to stand in front of him. You add that Golovkin isn't the biggest guy to begin with and things could get ugly.

if you want to consider Alvarez as an elite (maybe not ATG) just an elite then GGG will look great, in fact i'll go as far as to say that if an ATG fighter emerges in the middleweight division than GGG looks good or great regardless if he wins or not.

I do think he might not look great or good if he fights someone big who is SMW or higher who is an ATG because i am of the mind that great bigger man will almost always beat great littler man.

I think he'll win some and lose some but he's definitely capable of winning rounds against anybody. Might not be the majority of rounds but he won't get walked for 12 rounds.

His only chances were old and injured(Martinez), and small (Cotto), and he took step aside money from them. So he may have been "ducked", but he certainly helped in the ducking by stepping aside for both Cotto-Canelo and Martinez-Cotto.
