As soon as I heard autobody shop I was skeptical. After hearing the shop owners side of the story I don't buy it. Id like to hear Buds side as well because those smalltime autobody shops always be scamming people out of their money. Especially when they identify the custoner as one with a lot of money. The listed phone number for the shop owner not working is just the tip of the iceberg for me.

That's what I was thinking as well. Clearly there was a problem if he felt the need to show up there and demand the car be returned. A lot of tradesmen are scammers so it wouldn't surprise me if this was the case. I'll give Bud the benefit of the doubt.

This is true, I understand the frustration but never do what Crawford did, get the law into it, you can actually threaten them where it hurts most in the pockets.

I remember my pops had an old scar sitting in the shop and they were charging him a fee for storing the car, the bill was like 4 thousand or 5 thousand bucks, my dad took them to court for that fee and he won and they had to reimburse the money they were charging.
