They don't remember cause it didn't last long enough. But everything the OP said was true. Of course not everyone was guilty of falling for the hype but the majority certainly were. Broners hype lasted a good couple of years so it was easier to catch people trying to backtrack on their prophecies.
If Spence loses his 0 in the next couple of fights, the same thing will happen and you'll get a lot of posters back tracking so save those quotes while you can, a future day of exposure is coming.Comment

He had CRAZY hype. End of story. It's not my fault if you weren't following boxing then,.Comment

Spence has never been seen as the future...It's a bull**** nickname same way Broner was gonna be "a problem" for everyone. Spence's claim to fame was hurting Broner in sparring so stop acting like it's not.Comment

Yeah they did.
After he stopped Malignaggi there was endless threads on here about how he would KO Floyd and nobody will want to fight him.
But who cares anyway? fighters being hyped, even if it's undeserved is a big part of the entertainment i think, seeing if they can live up to it or not.Comment

Dude had serious hype.Comment

Khan ruined Diaz, Porter needed two attempts, lets be honest he lost the first fight
Khan softened him up for Porter the 2nd time around
With that said people did feel Brook would duck Porter because at the time Brook was known for pulling out of fights, still is (Chaves)
Porter is a good boxer, but the only people who were calling him the next Mike Tyson was Eddie Hearn and Brook
Tyson had Power, Porter lacks itComment
