  • Does anyone listen to thaboxingvoice?

I like to listen to it but the host Nestor Gibbs really bothers me. He is super disrespectful to fighters calling them bums. He kept calling Leonard Bundu "Bumdu."

He also brags about pirating sky sports on his apple tv but then wont let other guests talk about fights if they weren't shown in America. He seems just off to me.

Other than him I really like the show. Any other good boxing programs to listen to for hardcore fans?

I used to listen to it more often. He turned me off a lot one time when he went on a tirade about how not **** Mark Breland was just cuz he's been a boxing fan for like one week longer than his podcast has been active or whatever & didn't know who he was. Plus him arguing with co-hosts over the dumbest things tend to bore me after awhile & makes it a frustrating show to listen to. Think a recent episode I listen to they had like a 40min argument over some minor point the co-host was trying to make about Algieri that they more or less agreed on.

    I'm a podcast 'hoor.

My go to list of shows:

Paulie M's - Pete Cards is maybe my favorite boxing personality at this point
    HBO Boxing
Bad Culture Radio - gots a couple good shows including a newer one with Breadman
Bad Left Hook - a great 3 time a week show that is like 20mins long that is a solid way to keep updated on boxing news if you don't got a lot of time
Rope A Dope Radio - this is one of the better long form call in shows that is like TBV, but is much calmer, reasonable & therefore listenable for me
Leave It In the Ring - couple good shows on this network
    Ringside Reporter
3 Knockdown Rule - Steve Kim & Mario Lopez hosted show
Box N Life Podcast - ex-boxer Tony Jeffries hosted show
Boxing Junkie - USA Today boxing writers show
Fighters Fury - this show does boxing & MMA ****
Podcast Detroit - this network gots a show called The Undercard that talks Boxing & MMA in Detroit & Michigan

Also rans that talk about boxing or have boxing guests:

JRE - talks about boxing/fighting/mma alot
Fighter & The Kid - have had numerous boxing guests including Shawn Porter, Holyfield & Mosley
PapaCast - newer Bob Papa hosted show, has had Atlas & Arum on
Chris Mannix Show - sports show, but has some good boxing info sometimes
Lets Get It On - Big John McCarthy hosted, MMA ref, but has a lot of interesting opinions & knowledge that should be compelling for a boxing fan or fan of reffing
Bill Simmons Show - sports show, has the best Jim Lampley interview I've heard & mighta flipped me from a Lampler hater

The only boxing show I heard WAS OUR OWN. NSB RADIO baby for life!! We had the best discussions, the most intelligent analysis and just the best podcast on the web period.

Here is the intro I made for our show for nostalgia sake:

No. It's like reading a tabloid newspaper. If Nes wasn't involved I might.

Really? I see people say worse things on this forum DAILY!

The Difference is that Nes shows up to fights and Press Conferences, the same Nes you see on his youtube Channel is the same Nes you see in person and he will Ask Fighters, Managers, Promoters those tough questions

So I give Nes much respect he is not hiding behind a Mobile Device talking **** like SOME PEOPLE!

I will check these out. Heard JRE and Kim's. Does Max Kellerman do a podcast?

Yes I heard that Algeri argument. Nes just takes everything too far. Plus he always has sound problems. Dude cant figure out audio mixing to save his life but acts like he is a professional radio host.

Is that the one started by Robert The Genius, the guy who used to call into Boxing Truth Radio all the time? Didn't like it.

Boxing Truth was the GOAT and I still miss it.

There was another really good one whose name I cant recall, but it ended in like 2013 because one of the guys got a job with Top Rank or some ****.

You cant call fighters bums then expect fighters to call in to your show. From what I gather he does this for a living. You have to show some professionalism. Bundu is not even a bum.

I use to but Nes starts arguements for the smallest of things. He tends to say one thing one day and another thing the next just to start debates. He has very little knowledge on the sport compared to his others and the host of other shows.

He's also very disrespectable to his co-host and boxers

I think the last straw for me was when he constantly kept saying Guerreroe only lost to Thurman and Mayweather before Garcia. It's an inaccurate quote and one that I'm sure he was aware of but admitting Guerreroe lost to Diaz at FW would undermind his argument.

Also that whole video on Garcia beating Mayweather was silly and a advice fanboy inspired production.

I mostly listen to Rope a Dope Radio and The Next Round with Steve Kim now. I'm going to check out some of the shows Eff Panda posted as well.
