So if they fight it would be for the Ring title...not sure how Khan is ranked #2 to be honest

    It should go like

    Bradley (with Pacs retirement)
    Brook
    Porter
    Garcia
    Khan

But hey, this is the ring that ranks guerrero, broner and if im not wrong, at one stage, ortiz, has p4p level guys. Heck, they ranked Canelo as p4p following the Trout fight.

Just look at their rankings right now, they are a joke.

They have khan at number Two at welterweight? That is just shameless marketing by golden boy to make khan look better than he really is. That way when canelo kills him they can say how highly ranked khan was.

Shocking that people still reference the RING. It's owned by Golden Boy Promotions. Imagine if Al Haymon bought the RING. No one would give it an ounce of credibility.

That's ridiculous, watch them keep Khunt at #2 even after Canelo kills him and state that it doesn't affect his WW ranking.

Sadly I must agree with this. I still refrence it as it was the best way to keep up with boxing pre internet and old habits die hard. No ranking system is perfect, but I tend to go with the fight news rankings.

ESPN has Khan ranked #6 but once they remove Manny, like RING did he will be bumped up to #5. Problem is with Manny and Floyd retiring and Bradley just losing that means you have a wide open field full of fighters who have all done little to NOTHING at 147.

Brook has fought NOBODIES but has a win over Porter
Thurman is a paper champ but he beat Julio Diaz, Guerrero, Chaves, Collazo
Garcia is another paper champ he beat a washed up Paulie and worse version of Guerrero
Porter beat a better version of Paulie, Broner, Alexander but lost to Brook and could NOT beat Julio Diaz the first time he fought
Khan beat Collazo, Alexander, Julio Diaz and Algieri

Brook has the most legit belt IMO and beat Porter the best win of any guy at 147. After that these guys have all fought the same B and C class fighters just literally passing around each others trash. Yes Danny beat Khan at 140 but at 147 Khan has beaten better competition. Porter has some good wins but lost to Brook and unlike Khan and Thurman fought Julio Diaz to draw and need 2 fights to get a win.

Truth is these guys need to all fight each other and let the dust clear before we know the true rankings. After Brook not much to separate guys 2-5

Welterweight is messy because of how badly the split affects it.

Bradley's wins over JMM and Vargas give him a solid claim to the top spot. But the JMM fight was a while ago now and Rios/Chaves don't count as stellar opposition.

Khan has beaten Algieri, Devon, and Collazo. Ok but not hugely impressive either. His win over Devon doesn't look that great coming between Devon's losses to Porter and Martinez. Khan also has baggage in his losses to Peterson and Danny.

Brook is the guy most people rank at the top if they don't have Bradley in there. But Brook is there entirely on the Porter win, as apart from that he has a string of shit opponents.

I think I would have Bradley and Brook at #1 and #2 but it's not at all clear right now. The division needs the right fights to happen soon.

You could literally mix and match the top 5 however you want and I won't be too upset because there is just not much separating these guys. Winner of Thurman/Porter is a first good step in clearing this mess up.
