I hear this term and not sure what it means to "cash out" a fighter.
what does it mean when a fighter is getting "cashed out?"

When a fighter or his team realises they are above the level they should really be at, or they are coming to the end of their time fighting at that level, they can 'cash out' by finding the fight that makes them the most money and, probably, losing.
eg: Charles Martin cashed out vs Anthony Joshua. Martin/his team knew there was a good chance he could lose to anyone in the top 10, so they found the most profitable opponent they could (AJ) and made as money as they could before sinking back down to the level they should really be operating at.Comment
