With reports of Pedraza being unhappy, Top Rank does this....

Here's the article about Pedraza being unhappy with his promotions

For a boxer with little public profile, Jose Pedraza has managed to remain in the spotlight more often than most others in the industry. The unbeaten super featherweight titlist from Cidra, Puerto Rico has seen more than half of his career bouts gain airtime and is now set for his third consecutive appearance on Showtime, when he faces England’s Stephen Smith on April 16. With a title in tow and a major cable network on board to showcase his talents, Pedraza has plenty of reason to smile these days. So it was met with bewilderment by Lou DiBella – who serves as co-promoter along with Javier Bustillo and Gary Shaw – that the unbeaten boxer took to the media to voice displeasure over the manner in which his career has been handled.

But Lou did kinda take a shot at their star fighter last night

The fact that Pedraza is Puerto Rican and not a superstar yet is troubling. He is a great boxer but Dibella has him fighting in random places and undercards there's no reason he shouldn't be as famous as Verdojo because I believe he's even better

After Verdejo's poor showing in PR last night this would be the perfect time to take Pedraza to PR to headline a big fight. The PR press is starting to doubt if Verdejo is really the next Tito.

I definitely didn't understand Pedraza being a co-feature. 1)I don't think Russell is THAT big a name. 2)Pedraza was in the more interesting, competitive fight that was worthy of the headliner position. Having said that Pedraza isn't garnering fans cuz he's going to decisions all the time. Virtually no fans are running towards guys who nearly got a 50% KO rate so his pending superstardom seems hilarious to discuss whatever his nationality to me to some extent. Gomez was KOing mfers. Tito was KOing mfers. Cotto was KOing mfers. Even Benitez was KOing mfers at this level. Is Verdejo even THAT popular himself with his go the distance with all these regular guys like Najera ass?

Pedraza should be pretty happy after last night, and he will likely headline next time out. There are a lot of interesting fights for him

As i posted during the fight, Pedraza Issue is not promotion, it is his STYLE! He is a skilled boxer which I'm a fan of but Casuals won't care for it and to me that is why he is not a star yet and probably will never reach that level of stardom REGARDLESS who Promotes him because boxing is so Dumb Down now.

He goes to Top Rank WTF are they going to do for him put him on the undercard of Verdejo fights? He want stardom? Beat Javier Fortuna and Ucheiyama and unify and the Stardom will come. He is only 26, am I missing something? Is he suppose to be handed Stardom simply because he is Puerto Rican? All he has to do is keep winning and the stardom will come!
