George Groves has indicated that he will fight for the European title again soon. The Hammersmith super middleweight, who won the title back in September, 2014 against Christopher Rebrasse, is now mandatory for the same belt. Groves will have to face Callum Smith, the undefeated Liverpudlian (19-0, 14 KOs), if he wants to win back his old prize.

I was expecting Groves v Murray but i prefer this. I rate Murray but i think Groves v Smith is a much more exciting fight as Smith looks good so far and Groves looks good under his new trainer. They both have something to prove. Smith still has to prove he is as good as they say and Groves has to prove he still has something left. Groves at his best is a handful for anybody, but we haven't seen that since the first Froch fight. I like Murray but we probably know what to expect from him.

Agreed, Smith is much fresher and will stop Groves.

I hope it is Groves-Smith although I wouldn't be surprised if Smith vacated and Groves-Murray was for the EBU with Smith waiting it out for his mandatory shot for the WBC title.

The fight being made is Groves-Murray which is going to be on the undercard when Joshua fights at the end of June in London.

Smith will vacate.

I've got Smith winning vs Groves if that's the fight that is made.

If it turns out to be Groves vs Murray, that is a really interesting fight that I wouldn't like to call the winner of.

It's a fight i'd really like to see. As other have said though; i can see Smith waiting out his shot at Degale/Jack/Bute..with Groves Vs Murray becoming the fight for the Euro title.

Still, Groves Vs Murray is a good fight.
