SRL is a legend in the sport but his commentary was beyond atrocious. And Marv is simply an NBA guy. He's wasn't really cut out for boxing. I'm glad they got rid of them.

    Agree, disagree?

I thought tonight's broadcast was good. I couldn't tell what was lacking from the broadcasts in the past. Not sure if it was Marv, SRL, or just not having that exciting fight to enhance the whole broadcast. Either way I thought tonight's show was great.

SRL is just way too bland. He has such a boring tone. And Marv doesn't know much about boxing. He ooh's and aah's at shots that aren't even landing.

SRL was good back in the 80's before the Coke scandal. When it was him, Lampley, and Larry Merchant on HBO.

Agree. They just didn't seem to fit into 2015 boxing to me. I used to love Ray on HBO. Him saying unbelievable when Tyson got KO'd is still etched into my memory. But it just didn't work this time.

I definitely don't think they added much to the PBC model so if they are dropped due to money issues its not something that will be missed by most I imagine.

Didn't know he was with HBO back in the 80's. Way before my time lol.

Kenny and BJ did sound good on the broadcast. It was a nice change and the commentary had a more natural feel and flow.
