GGG defeated Martin Murray on Feb 21st. On Mar 13th the fight with Monroe was announced. The opponent was picked, negotiated, and announced less than a month after his previous fight. It wasn't a mandatory defense. The fight did nothing to further his goal of unifying. It was a pointless fight. They didn't even attempt to negotiate with any besides Monroe Jr. Yet we're supposed to believe they can't get anyone to fight them.
Within a years time GGG would have fought Willie Monroe Jr, voluntary, Lemieux, unification and Dominic Wade, mandatory. Within a years time Kell Brook fought Bizer and Gavin (both mando's). Unification is a noble effort if you're 27 years old in your prime. But when you're 34 and the best scalp on your resume is Martin Murray, your goal should be to fight the best out there. Dominic Wade and Monroe Jr just don't cut it.
So for the GGG defenders. Why did GGG fight Monroe Jr?
