That's what my reaction was when I read the headline too.

It's a damn good fight in my opinion.

Maybe that's the problem, if those names rejected by HBO were who Cotto was looking at maybe his team think Brook is too much of a risk.

Could also be marketability, how well known is Brook in the States considering most of his fights have been in the UK? Cotto certainly wouldn't travel to the UK.

HBO putting their foot down on the opponent choices. If only they would do that for certain other fighters....

they let Canelo-Khan through, but don't offer Cotto the same courtesy. Khan is a bigger name than any of Cotto's potential match-ups, but it's just a bit surprising that they would block Cotto when he's probably gonna retire soon.
