Comments Thread For: Vasyl Lomachenko To Face Fortuna or Martinez on June 11

This much is clear, WBO featherweight belt-holder Vasyl Lomachenko will be fighting on June 11th at the Madison Square Garden in New York. The question is at this point, just who will be his opponent?

Good backup plans since walters tucked his tail and ran away

Didn't the WBA order a unification between Fortuna and Takashi Uchiyama? If they didn't come to an agreement they were supposed to go to purse bids.

        What happened with that?

Good with either fight. Loma should be fighting 3 to 4 times a year. He's a top talent and deserves more exposure and meaningful fights.

Fortuna would be the better fight and would test Loma more than Martinez in my opinion.

What's up with Walters? Why is this guy so reluctant to fight Loma?

Oh well at least are meaningful fights for Loma.

Chill...Fortuna is too young and hasn't fought anyone elite, he's only 25. I'd say wait til 27-29 to fight a guy like Lomachenko. In the meantime Fortuna should fight other good fighters like Uchiyama, Salido and Pedraza before fighting someone with a 396-1 amateur record and 2 Olympic Gold medals

When they couldn't come to an agreement, the WBA ordered Uchiyama to fight the interim champion instead, Jezreel Corrales.

What the hell? Why does the WBA even have rules if they aren't going to enforce what they say?

With the IBF at least you always know what to expect.

Great news on several fronts. Good to see Haymon fighters gradually get back on HBO. Loma wins vs either but I think Fortuna is the tougher fight.
