Once be serves his 10 days. He should immediately get help. Therapy, anger management etc, so if he does get found guilty, he can show he is trying to straighten out his life and can walk.

He is a dumb kid. It is time for him to grow up.

Well you said it, he's probably too dumb to do what you suggested. Even if the people close to him tell him that's his best chance. He thinks he's a thug and has to look hard for his fanbase. He doesn't know that doing the right thing is actually looked at as better by most people, and will win him fans. He thinks being dumb and hood will win him fans. And he doesn't do this to win fans, then he should leave the sport. Cause pro boxing is all about loving to be watched by fans as you compete with the best. Even if not for the fans, at least do it for your own kids for god's sake.
