i feel like byrd purposely tried to fight like lamon. he was probably tired of winning and getting no credit because his fights were boring. he wouldve been a walking god if he did to wlad what lamon did.

maybe but um why would he pick this fight to do it ?

How does a southpaw deal with a right cross? Instead of blocking with his left and countering, Byrd decides to hit instead.
The first knockdown, Byrd is lucky he had his hair in a tight knot at the base of his skull coz he hit that deck pretty hard that the hair absorbed the impact. Else, he would have been knocked out harder than the punch he took.
Byrd has been slowly but surely planting his feet more and more and still moving his head to some extent but relying on offense
to keep from being hit. I think he was hit in this fight because he waited to move his head until the punch came, and in most cases his reflexes were simply too slow. It cost him more in this fight than in others because he was in with a larger fighter who had formidable skills and handspeed, not to mention punching power. He can still be successful, but Wlad is all wrong for him and so is his new style.
I didn't want to start a thread on this; so I'll ask this question here. Are there any pics of Chris Byrd landing any punches against Wlad? I know that Byrd didn't land much but I like to see one pic where he isn't getting his ass kicked!
