Light heavyweight Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (15-0, 12 KO's), who is coming off a solid ten-round decision victory over Yuniesky Gonzalez on December 19th, returns this Friday night at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles versus veteran trialhorse Derrick Findley in an eight-rounder.

Hmm if Ward wants a tune up could be ok.

I agree with this. If you can't get your guy a big fight, keep him busy. Get another training camp in, get better and go get the win.

I agree this is a stay busy fight and it's good that he keeps gaining experience. But as much upside has Slava has he's not yet ready for 2 of the Top 10 fighters in the world yet. Give him a little more time.

How about he fights Barrera next? I would also throw in Fonfara or Alvarez but I'm not sure that's an option for him right now.

Eh. I mean if he gets offered Kov or Ward it'd be hard to turn it down opportunity-wise & money-wise I'm sure, but either of those fights seems like a huge jump up in class & he's not as old as Barrera where he's in a now or never position.

I'd like to see him get a lil more experienced before being thrown in with Kov or Ward. There's a ton of prospects at 175, I'd love to see more of them getting matched up this year with the winners being lined up for the Kov-Ward winner (& loser) next year.

These fights can only be on the horizon if your team is willing to make them. Why not take the challenge against Ward and prove your worth?
