    • A win over Takam is a serious accomplishment.

      • Hughie is the 3rd best heavyweight.. he has that win over Rudenko

Tyson is 1, Joshua is 2

Parker isn't even in the top 10 yet

Here's a HL of the fight. As you can see, Takam did a lot more than just flick out a jab behind a shoulder guard. He brought it to Povetkin just as much as Whyte did to Joshua, body and head. Difference was he was far more effective in the way he went about it. Actually led on the cards at one point. And this was against a consensus top five (top 3?) heavyweight in the best form he's ever been in.

Whyte in comparison was almost wholly ineffective save for a brief stretch in the second and a portion of the third. Apart from that he was savagely broken down and smashed to pieces.

So yes, Takam was competitive. Can't say the same about Whyte.
I also saw highlights of Ishe Smith vs Carlos Molina and that also looked like a war when it boiled down to a couple of minutes. In reality, and the video has already been posted and proved me right, this was a dull cagey affair with little happening until the stoppage.

Takam definitely didn't "take it" to Povetkin, he fought on the backfoot behind the roll and swung out a jab or right hand.

And that doesn't change because you can find one clip of him walking forward for five seconds.

Beating Takam would be good for Parker - But I just don't think he's special in any way. Tough, but not special (Takam).

Hughie has more natural talent than AJ too. I've said that ever since I saw him fight.

I think Parker is special and he'll beat Takam. Parker is a totally different type of fighter to Povetkin - He won't be facing the same issues.

Yes, but I don't think it should happen right now. I think AJ is a little too strong right now. Give Parker 24 months. He's only 24 years old - No reason to put him in with AJ now I feel. He could still fight the Arreolas, Stivernes, Malik Scott's, build his name up a bit and get experience.

It seems like Joshua is more on the Fury/Haye/Wilder path right now. But their paths will cross.
Obviously Parker's team see it differently seeing as the Takam fight is an IBF final eliminator. Parker hasn't been able to get those fighters that you mention to fight him at this stage, this is the main reason Parker's resume pretty much stinks and why they have jumped at the chance to face Takam in this final eliminator.

You know full well how that went down and what that title meant.

The British fans in general get excited when Joshua fights you appear to be sold by Joshua, you're expecting Joshua will still have the belt in 24 months although Parker should he win will be mandated in November to be enforced no later than late January and IMO firmly have had a superior boxing education in the fights he has had to that date in comparison than Joshua.

Answer me this please, do you believe a win over Whyte is superior to a win over Takam, I'd like a simple yes or no if you would be so kind, I think I know your answer already.

The British fan base Joshua has acquired appear to be extremely taken and gripped by this new found untreatable fever, would you be excited to see Parker vs Joshua or are you content for Joshua to face these step up opponents you so mention such as Arreola and Scott, I'm presuming you believe Joshua has not yet had these step up fights as he has only really faced a single love body to date in the shape of the crude Whyte.

In regards to Whyte with his win over Minto he looked probably worse than he should in fact his reputation prior to facing Joshua shoud have been held. I mean his career best win over Minto he looked damned poor, shipping punches guys on the level of Parker and Takam I do not believe would ever allow even coming off of lengthily lay offs.

Why do you keep calling this fight "cagey" FFS? Fury vs Wlad was a cagey affair. Haye vs Wlad was cagey. This wasn't remotely cagey.

It wasn't a wild sloppy slugfest like Whyte vs Joshua, but that's because Takam actually has some skills and a bit of boxing IQ. Whyte's one of the rawest so-called prospects I've seen in a long time. Awful technique, no footwork to speak of, and a defence that consists of blocking punches with his face.

I didn't think much of him before the Joshua fight and I don't think much of him now. Joshua should be ashamed for even making that a fight.

Might be true - But that still doesn't take away that he has a crap resume.

                    • H2H, Parker beats Fury.

As for their resumes, there isn't much in it - save, perhaps, Sherman Williams
