Freitas targets Pacquiao after Raheem

Never regarded as a power-puncher, Zahir, nevertheless, has a better KO rate at 16 of 27 than Lemuel Nelson (13 of 25 fights won) and Juan Carlos Ramirez (16 of 37), both of whom managed to KD Popo. Raheem even has three first round stoppages on his record: Stephen Rose- KO1, Agustin Lorenzo- KO1 and Rodney Jones-TKO1. He also has a couple of 2nd round stoppages: Tim Sala and Steve Trumble.
This is of course not suggesting that Raheem should try to take Freitas out. This is just saying that I join the chorus that it shall be a mistake for Popo to be talking about Pac when he has Raheem in front of him.

Originally posted by grayfistFreitas has been campaigning at Lightweight for two years now. His date with Raheem is to fill up the vacant WBO Lightweight version. If he has his eyes on Pacquiao, does this mean that he intends to win the WBO crown only to throw it away, given that Pacquiao has repeatedly said he has no immediate plans to move up to Lightweight? If that is so, is Freitas saying he is going to throw away a "world" crown to fight for an "international" non-crown, given that Pac has no title except an "international" jr. Light title?
Or, is Freitas (or, his manager) planning to lure Pac to Lightweight by danggling the WBO belt that he hopes to win from Raheem? If that is the plan, can Pac be lured, given that he has Barrera and Morales--much bigger names than Popo-- all lined up for fights at Jr. Light?
Although Freitas has only one loss (to Diego, TKO 10) he has fallen in the hands of three others before going on to win. He was KD'd by Lemeul Nelson in the 1st, and Nelson has a record of only 13 stoppages in 25 wins. Juan Carlos Ramirez (a Morales TKO victim before meeting Popo) knocked Freitas down in the 2nd round, before himself getting KD'd twice in the fourth auguring a TKO4 win for Popo. Ramirez has stopped only 16 foes in his 37 wins, to date. Jorge Barrios, who currently holds the WBO Jr. Light title, knocked Freitas down in rounds 8 and 11. Freitas wildly swung back after picking himself up in the 11th and returned the favor. The bout was stopped in the 12th when Barrios went down again. At the time that ref Jorge Alonzo waved it off, Judge Denny Nelson had it 106-103, Freitas; Judge Guy Jutras, 104- 106, Barrios; and, Judge Peter Trematerra, 105-105, Draw.

I actually like a Popo-Pac meeting, but I just can't see it happening within a year. So, I suggest that if Freitas fares well against Raheem (that's an IF), he should cast his eyes in the direction of Juan Diaz, a very exciting fighter.

yea if this fight happens and thats a big IF, it will be a good explosive fight while it lasts...Not sure if Pacquiao can win this especially if he moves up to lightweight to fight popo, but at super featherweight i give pac a good chance against anyone.
