Comments Thread For: Amir Khan Stands Firm, Would Consider Return To Olympics

AIBA's plan to allow professional boxers to compete in the Olympic games has been met with plenty of detractors, but it can count one of the sport's biggest stars as a supporter. Amir Khan reiterated his interest in a possible return to the Olympics on a conference call to promote his May 7 middleweight title bout against Canelo Alvarez.

Funny, but if Manny goes Khan is going for sure. This is one way Manny can't avoid him. Imagine Khan beating Manny in Olympics? This could be quite interesting.

it's the wbc who are vocally against this and if I remember rightly said they would strip any belt holder who competes and remove them from their rankings.. khan has his ww trinket with the wbc and it's the wbc mw belt up for grabs may 7th, so go for it khan, mess up your career

Taking a strong stand against the plans of AIBA, the international governing body for boxing under the International Olympic Committee, to allow professionals to compete in the Olympic Games as early as this year in Rio, the World Boxing Council under president Mauricio Sulaiman has announced that “any world champion or top 15 ranked boxer per divisions of the WBC that participates in the Olympic games would be immediately expelled.”

If Khan goes to the olympics it will be impossible to beat him. Who on earth can beat Khan over 3 rounds, its pretty much impossible.

Its a ****** idea, just money driven, which is what the Olympics should not be about.

The only benefit is seeing guys who have avoided eachother have to fight

Prescott did it in under a minute.

Garcia almost had him out in 3, he was lucky to survive the round, but got finished in the 4th.
