Comments Thread For: David Haye Reflects on Joshua's Win, Advises Him To Savor It

David Haye has told Anthony Joshua he should enjoy his successes after the young heavyweight responded with indifference to becoming a world champion. Joshua, 26, refused to revel in his achievement of defeating Charles Martin for the IBF title on Saturday in only his 16th professional fight and instead insisted he had to continue to prove himself against some of the division's biggest names.

Haye is the man on the outside who knows out of the current champions, Joshua is the only fighter who will be willing to fight him, so its case of Haye calling out Joshua and making it clear to the British public he wants this fight, making it more difficult for the Joshua camp to delay the fight for much longer.
I expect the match up to happen this summer, national stadium and David Haye will prove he is the leading British HW fighter and Fury will have to face the guy at some point.

I like Haye, but he really acts like he's done so much more than he has in the HW division. Fought an old Ruiz, had what some call a questionable decision against Valuev, fought a broken down Chisora, dodge duck dip dive and dodged Vitali, avoided Wlad all night in a lopsided decision, pulled out of the best times to fight a rather young and inexperienced Fury--twice; it's really not been so impressive at all.

barely beat valuev that probably should have been a draw, that was a bit of a gift. Really wanted to see valuev vs wlad, see if the big man could be ko'd.

Haye needs to stfu! His last no hoper was ranked no12 by wba, this guy hes fighting is ranked 29 in the world according to boxrec, shows how haye is building himself up fighting complete nobodys and trying to talk himself into a title shot again. he knows a.j is only gonna get better over time, best to get him whilst hes still learning through mistakes. Hope no one gives him a shot!!!

The sad fact, is that in recent history (all weight classes) , it will be remembered for fighters avoiding each other. Is that because they are scared of certain fighters?

Look back through the history of boxing, the true great era's and you will see fighters never avoided each other, none of this rubbish about not handing a fighter a payday, they simply put their gloves on and settled any differences in the ring.

Wilder holds the most prestigious belt, yet it means nothing if he hides away fighting bums.

This is why Joshua understands he has to fight the leading heavyweight fighters, he has to face all of them, otherwise how can he look in the mirror and respect himself as a boxer/ champion?
