In a lot of his fights post-Foreman, actually.

Froch by his own admission isn't a big boxing fan and what he's seen of Ali is probably limited to fights like that.

Sorry that's nonsense, even before the Foreman fight Ali's legs were gone he simply couldnt dance like he used to and as a result he was often pushed back onto the ropes by aggressive younger fighters. Aside from the Foreman fight he didn't actively try and lean on the ropes but when your in with pressure fighters or power punchers like Frazier, Shavers, Lyle and Norton your bound to be pushed back at times in the fight.

Remember this is an older Ali who has been in many wars at this stage and had lost his prime years as a result. If Froch isnt a boxing fan then he shouldn't open his mouth about some he knows nothing about. It's clear Froch's knowledge of Ali is limited at best, he clearly never saw a young, fast, slick Ali.
