  • Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua Opens as Slight Favorite To Beat Tyson Fury

New world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is odds-on to beat fellow belt-holder Tyson Fury should they meet later this year. Joshua claimed the IBF version of the title by stopping Charles Martin in the second round of Saturday's fight in London. A dust-up with British rival Fury, who is the reigning WBA, IBO and WBO champion, now looks inevitable at some point in the future and Joshua is odds-on across the board having been made the slight favourite.

There is definitely an argument for him beating Fury, not sure he should be favorite though.

        Just like Klitschko was.

I'm glad though, these casuals backing Joshua means bigger winnings for me when the fight happens.

He's favourite for SPOTY? What a joke!

Fury schooled the lineal, unbeaten in 12 years champion in his backyard and doesn't win it. Yet Joshua knocks over an unknown fat bum in his own backyard and he's made favourite?

Makes sense. Bookmakers always go with the puncher.

In reality, Fury is the favourite right now.

Providing both continue down the same paths they're treading then I expect the bookies' odds to be even wider come fight time. Which is great news if you're a Fury fan looking to make a bit of cash.

It's so funny how quickly this has happened. Joshua beats some unknown guy and gets a gift belt after Fury was stripped. Joshua now favourite to beat him hahahahaha I'm going to be betting everything in my bank account on a Fury win

Fury must be so offended it would be nice his reaction to this.
But although i expect it to be competive id have thought Fury was favourite. And although josh thinks he can beat Fury, hed expect Fury to be favourite.

Eddie hearn is not a bookie or a fool, considering the amount of money he has already made for himself and joshua. No way he lets joshua fight fury this year. Maybe not even next year.
