Assuming Pacquiao is indeed done, hard to argue with the winner of Brook-Bradley, followed by Thurman-Porter, followed by Garcia-Vargas.
Bradley and Brook have big WW wins (Marquez, Porter). Thurman beat Chaves and Guerrero, and Porter beat Malignaggi and Broner. That puts them next imo. Garcia beat Malignaggi and Guerrero after Thurman and Porter and has nothing else at WW yet, and Vargas beat Sadam Ali but lost to Bradley in his only other fight at that weight.
All are good fights, but none of them would establish a true number one. The winners of these fights would need to fight each other to sort out number one. Which imo would be Brook, Danny and Thurman. Brook or Thurman dismantles Danny as far as I'm concerned. The real fight imo is Brook vs Thurman, but time will tell.
If Pac is retired...which I doubt he is. Expect a fight in 2017.
Anyway, if Pac is gone then Bradley automatically becomes numero uno and Brook with his win over Porter has done more than Garcia, Vargas and Thurman so its obviously Bradley v Brook.
I would go with Brook/Bradley then Thurman/Porter. I do not think Danny/Vargas is in the mix.
I would go Brook/Bradley because its the highest aggregate (both top 3 with Thurman). I also think its the best fight out of all discussed. Porter is like #4 for me. he and Thurman is going to be good but Brook (IMO) beat him clearly.
Danny and Vargas just haven't done enough-although much of Danny's early career (as bojangles and dreamerusa point out) was at ww.
Of the choices I think Brook vs Bradley decides things best, largely because if Porter were to beat Thurman I can't see Porter as #1, but for me I got Bradley & Thurman as the top two so they'd need to fight to for sure clarify the #1 spot as things stand.
