Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis: Joshua Not Ready For Tyson Fury or David Haye

LONDON - Britain's Anthony Joshua won the IBF world heavyweight title on Saturday with a sensational second round knockout of outclassed American rival Charles Martin. Olympic champion Joshua, 26, had Martin on the canvas twice in the second round to record his 16th knockout in all 16 professional fights he has contested.

He would wipe his ass with Haye and BUM SQUAD Wilder. Fury might give him a run, literally. Joshua is the future of the heavy weight division.

I think Haye beats Joshua right now if Haye is anything close to what he was.

Joshua won't be getting easy shots to Haye's chin like he got with Martin. Haye isn't going to be stood upright in front of him.

If Haye lands a hard right and shakes Joshua like Whyte did, Joshua wouldn't see the end of the round. Haye doesn't really let fighters off the hook once they're hurt.

But how much does Haye have left? Part of me thinks not much and maybe he knows it but he see's opportunities for huge paydays with how the HW division is developing and he knows he will land a huge fight at some point, his name is too big in the UK for it not to happen. That's probably what the comeback is about. He's a chancer, but definitely a very good fighter at his best.

Haye stops Joshua within 6 rounds. They would be ****** to do that fight now, Joshua is still very green IMO. Fury just outbox him from the outside.

Lennox is right. Regardless of AJ's power, Fury is too savvy. If AJ cannot hit Fury, Fury wins. Remember Canelo V Maywether? It's also no point saying Klitschko didn't turn up because he absolutely did turn up, he just didn't know how to handle Fury's ring savvy, winning ugly is still a win regardless. I also cannot see AJ beating Haye at the moment, Haye has a completely different style to anything AJ has been in with, Haye will not stand in front of him without head movement like Martin did. AJ beats Wilder though.

Josh should fight haye this summer or winter. The way josh is speaking and how confident he is you csant argue that! What is the point of fighting hsye when he clearly thinks haye no longer has it, its called cherry picking. You might as well fight a hate who some think can beat you.

What's the worse that could happen........lose maybe? Well learn from your mistakes and come back stronger.

Taking on all comers now goes with the territory ok Haye hits hard but with his 'new' heavy frame how many rounds does he go , who is haye fighting to deserve this shot , the last two are unknown the latest one unpronounceable, who has haye really beaten at heavy ? Barrett , Ruiz lost 14 beaten them , Wlad, he lost clearly on points.David has got to prove he belongs there, it's an old name a long time ago.
Tyson is another matter, his proven but I still think AJ would nail him, it really is going to take some beating AJ. and that may not happen for a long time.

Lewis is correct, assuming that Haye is near what he was before. Hard to tell after one mismatch comeback fight. AJ is the future of the division along with Joseph Parker. But destroying an ordinary guy like Martin and tangling with the division's elite are two different things. AJ is a couple more safe wins away from those top guys. Why rush him? Make a couple of defenses of that paper title before trying for the real thing. The entire boxing world knows who the real champion is. But AJ is the real deal and his time will come.
