Makes more since then a ****in Rios fight, Cotto is seriously just cashing out. Right on him for doing so I guess. I think the problem lies with up and comers not having the balls and promotional business acumen to demand and corner these cash cows just coasting through the twilight of their careers. Seriously, if Thurman was relentless and out there trash talking day in and day out, he could land any fight he wants between 140-160. You'd have to be an atg trash talker but it can be done right now. Problem is these guys are just sitting back and waiting their turn. No bold people out their like Floyd and Pac. Although two completely different perspectives on how they executed their career goals, they at least had to vision to do so. Well Khan is doing the power plays right now for d*mn sure, but other than that no one is shooting for the stars. I actually see the life of boxing shifting more to the heavyweight division for the foreseeable future. Fury, Joshua, Haye, Wlad, Wilder....makes for a good showdown

Has to be at 147, he'd like it in Mexico, and if his knee feels good.

I think Marquez will also ask for Cotto to not be able to circle to his right, put stones in his shoes and also have the Mexican anthem sung twice.

Cotto won't go to 147 for anyone. It's a fantasy match-up but it's too late for it now.

It would be great to see Marquez in one more fire-fight but it's hard to see it happening.

Well it's a good fight from a business perspective and if they were the same size I'd love to see it.

But at this point in their careers I think Cotto is too big for Marquez and don't wanna see him have to fight completely drained.

It would have been an awesome fight a few years ago, but now, it's clear that Marquez doesn't stand a chance. He looked old and slow in his last two fights vs. worthy opponents (Bradley and Pacquiao). He still has power and speed in his hands and tons of skills, but unfortunately his legs are totally gone now. Anybody with good legs can easily outbox him now. Cotto has good legs, same as Bradley and Manny, not a good match for Marquez.

He has never been KO'd by anyone and it would be very sad to see him say good bye to the boxing world being KO'd, which is the thing that will most likely happen if he fights Cotto.

Cotto is 35yo, and he weighed 153lb's in his last two fights, despite the weight limit for those fights being 157 and 155 respectively.

Cotto trained to be in the best possible shape for those fights, regardless as to the weight limit.

The folks who think that Golovkin can just simply drop an entire division and beat Mayweather, are tripping..... and I doubt that old Cotto can do it either, even against old Marquez.

If Marquez knee is ok, and he is in shape..... I think he beats a shrink-wrapped Cotto at 147.

I don't think that fight will happen, Cotto can't make welter.
