Abraham: what happened to his power?

He was a murderous puncher at 160 (a prime for prime fight with GGG at 160 would have been amazing!).

He knocked the hell out of Taylor at 168 but then his power seemed to disappear. Okay, he got outboxed several times but even when he has connected flush with several fighters, he isn't hurting them like he used to before.

Ramirez's size/style/strategy made Abraham look shot. Abraham has looked like this for years.

His power never really travelled up to 168 anyway. I don't think knocking out Jermaine Taylor was proof that it did. Since moving up, apart from a few KO'd here and there, he's won his fights by covering up and nicking rounds in the last minute of rounds.

We need to stop equating power with KOs. They don't have an absolute correlation as most people assume. Knocking people out is a skill, and the power is more relevant when facing smaller fighters.

Abraham's power was more effective against middleweights, but he still hits hard at SMW. You need power to knock people out, but not knocking people out doesn't mean you don't have power.

The key for Ramirez or any boxer against Abraham is activity. He covers up if you throw, if you stay throwing he stays covered up. In the Latino Lounge I broke down what Ramirez has to do to win and why, and that's exactly what happened. I typed it in Spanish so I won't link it lol.

He cut a ton of weight to get to 160, that's why his promoters initiated the Super Six.
Now he's just a shell. Once in a while he really shows up to fight, but most of the time he is doing the least amount of work possible to win.
He also went to Bulgaria for high altitude training, which is probably the exact opposite of what you should do as an aging fighter.

Ramirez is the Demarco of 168. I'm sure Abraham's power is still there, Ramirez's footwork was ellusive, Abraham missed many hail marrys. He fought a younger dude.
