    Chip off the old Block

Anyone see the debut of Conor Benn the son of former WBO middleweight champion Nigel 'The Dark Destroyer' Benn.

Fights and moves just like his old man, should be an exciting career.

Honestly, to me it looked like he was trying to fight like Ricky Hatton, i.e. close the distance and fire to the body.

Unfortunately he was getting clipped on the way in like Ricky Hatton too.

That said, it was a short fight so it's difficult to read too much into it. He showed good power to the body and was ruthless when his opponent turned his back.

It's as if he studied his dad's rhythm to me. However he's a little too erratic.

If he can refine himself instead of throw shot after shot, he may develop shot selection and power.

Debut if get so he looked good for what it was. His personality seemed a little boy ish to me, and it sounds strange maybe, but does he have the hunger that others do?

I wasnt paying full attention because i was at pub and no one was focussing on undercard fights, but the bits i saw he looked a bit sloppy and didnt really show big power. The big left hook he landed after the the other turned his back didnt really seem to hurt him

Just looked like a young guy who has had a limited Am career, which is what he is.

Good luck to him. The pressure of the Benn name is gojng to be huge
