Contract up at the end of the year.

The two-year agreement, announced by Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, extends Pacquiao's pact with the promoter through Dec. 31, 2016. The deal is also with Pacquiao's MP Promotions, which co-promotes his fights.

No need to continue fighting. Unless it's a rematch with Floyd WHEN he comes back he has no need to continue.

As much as I wanted him to be back, I think Manny will not be back unless a fight Floyd and Marquez as KaL-EL mentioned. Retired boxers return to the ring because they do not have other things to do in life but Manny is different. Manny is occupied in helping his people and his nation.

I respect that, boxing is wear and tear on the body, no need to take unnecessary risks, he has already accomplished himself as one of the greatest fighters ever, made a lot of money and became so popular in the Phillipines that now he can have a fulltime job as a poitician without even having to study or go to college, there's absolutely no reason for Pacquiao to fight on.

In boxing "retiring" means you're gonna take off a couple months now.

I would be happy if this is it. He has nothing left to prove and the sport needs to move on from him and Mayweather. Both guys can walk away still among the best in the sport and let boxing find itself without them.
