Kind of a weird fight to make because if by some chance Scott turns up with a decent performance it is a pretty bad look for Joshua. At best he gets an easy stoppage but it is not like that is something that hasn't been done by a top guy before.

A guy like Duhaupus would be perfect, rugged so he can go rounds and his jab is pretty good so that Joshua at least faces some resistance. Joshua is a much better athlete though so with his superior offense he will be able to use all his tools while having to push himself to really stop the Frenchman.

He could theoretically look iffy, but even in that case it still probably wouldn't be close to enough to get Johan the win. It also wouldn't even be that bad longer term because at this stage him thinking he has made it is a pretty big danger.

Fury/Klitschko and Wilder/Povetkin are already made (aren't they?), and there's no way Hearn would choose Ortiz their 1st voluntary opponent right after winning a title. Saying that, Malik Scott is softer than baby ****, horrible voluntary given his history. I'd rather Glowacki/Cunningham winner or maybe even Jennings/Molina/Stiverne. Scott offers zero threat and he's pretty much irrelevant right now.

Calling bull**** on the Twitter post; even if the tweet actually did come from Scott, Eddie Hearn isn't reckless enough or foolish enough to lock Joshua into his next fight within five hours of winning the title (for no other reason than the Sky Box Office numbers can't even be guessed at for at least another week).

You add that the initial talk is of staging the fight in a stadium, and there's no way that anything close to competitive terms for anything was hashed out that quickly.

Scott heard about the payout that Martin allegedly got, and he's trying to pick a spot at the front of the line. moving on
