Canelo vs Trout and Lara were close fights. What happened to rematching close fights. He's getting these lopsided scorecards in close fights. It's like they're trying to fast track him or something. Even a seasoned big money vet like Floyd gave Maidana a rematch. When Canelo was first coming up I couldn't stand him. Mostly because he was being hyped up as the next big thing, but he was only fighting washed up or undersized fighters. I wasn't a fan of how protected he was by Golden Boy and I wanted to see him fight a real threat. Since he fought Trout, he's definitely earned my respect with the lineup he's made work of. With the exception of the Lara robbery and the respectable showing he gave against Floyd, I'd say he's dominated everyone else he's faced. If he can beat GGG, he'll be the man in boxing, no question.Comment

lets be real, he's only 163.8 to meet the requirements for the 30 day weigh in. He's going to be back up to 170 by next week.Comment

OK fair enough, I got the wrong idea from your last post. The funny thing my man is that I am not a ''lil G'' fan. I think his resume s%cks and shouldnt be considered a top 5 P4P. I am a boxing fan and what is Canelo doing is bad and is a duck. Nothing else to call it. Im a real boxing fan and I want a competitive fight. Canelo vs ''lil G'' for example.
I agree with you that Canelo is ducking Golovkin..... just like Golovkin ducked Ward..... there really is NO difference whatsoever.
Golovkin was negotiating with other SMW's at 168, and Canelo currently holds the WBC middleweight title..... so Golovkin should stay away from fat/old SMW's if he is not willing to fight the best, and Canelo should dump the MW belt if he is not willing to defend at 160.
There really is no difference..... the fans who disagree are biased toward 1 fighter.
I still have Golovkin in my Top 10 P4P, because I do not consider resume as important as skill/form, as P4P is purely fictional opinion anyway..... but yea, I don't have him ranked as highly as most others seem to.
And regarding the competitive fight, you will likely have to wait until Canelo moves to 160 and gets a couple of MW fights under his belt..... he is not going to give Golovkin any advantages, just like Ward took a couple of fights at 175 to adapt to LHW before facing Kovalev..... and it doesn't look like Golovkin is willing to drop below 160 despite his earlier statements.Comment

To be fair, Golovkin is bigger than Canelo, despite how the casuals choose to see things.
Golovkin is a middleweight, he has been conditioned to prepare for 160..... just like Canelo has been conditioned to prepare for 155.
Golovkin will not be the same fighter at 154, NO WAY..... that is ridiculous.
AND, Canelo will be stronger when he moves to 160.
In both of those cases, each guy would be required to prepare completely differently.
So I don't think that Golovkin should be required to make 155, despite his bull**** to the media..... but he sure as fk should be willing to negotiate..... because he is not a huge middleweight, and he pulled that same catchweight/A-side rubbish with Ward.Comment

Canelo already looks drained and still has to lose 8.3 lbs but keep claiming you're not a middleweightComment
