Wlad want to fight 30 more fights...?

    MERCHANT:
Emanuel you, saw how easily he handled Byrd in their first fight. Did you have concerns coming into the fight. And how did you plan to deal with him this time?

    STEWARD:
I know Byrd was trying to be more aggressive in the beginning. The trick was to keep his left hand in an extended position instead of bringing it back. Byrd, spent most of the fight trying to get out of the way of the left extended arm, he never caught a right hand.

    MERCHANT:
Did you think that in the last fight people thought you dragged Wladimir across the finish line. Was it more Wladimir tonight? Because the it looked that way.

    STEWARD:
Yeah, it was Wladimir on his own. You have got to remember the last two fights were undefeated fighters. So people know he is the best heavyweight out there.

    MERCHANT:
Who do you think he should fight next?

Wladimir at 30. Can he become the champion that he was? STEWARD:
He told me he wants to fight 29 fights -- wants to unify the title because he really wants to fight another champion. If not, there has been talk about him fighting, another one for a best fight.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

I suppose he plans to retire at 40, fighting 3 fights a year...

This means that he will have about 90 fights in total when he retires... Currently, he has 49 fights on his record.

Doubt he'll fight that many; but he was on top of the world after Byrd. I do think he can fight and win impressively enough over the next few years to completely erase whatever stigma remains from his last two losses. Cong**** to Wladimir and his fans...he looked like the champ he once appeared to be on the way to becoming.

He's ****ing old school. He could end up with 90 HW fights.

Even if he loses....he'll still be around because of his talent. Just like Lennox Lewis said himself.

I thought Wlad handled himself very nicely after that fight with his comments. He didn't say anything ****** at all unlike almost every post-fight interview I've heard this year. He still has a long way to go before I forget him taking TOS and the IBF to court rather than rematch TOS, however. And of course, the excuses after the Brewster fight...even if he took them back, I still get the impression of a crybaby when I think of him.

He actually said nothing ever himself about what happenned in the Brewster fight. All the info was coming from people surrounding his team.

well fighting 30 more fights sure sounds crazy, but what if he is serious??

what if he fights 29 more fights and unifies the title at some point and say he goes 27-2 in that time.

if he retires with a record of 74-5 and was the unified champ where would that leave him as far as all time greats? his resume would be a little hard to **** with. hypothetically.........

I don't know, but without getting ahead of yourself it still makes you think.

He never really ducked anyone his entire career. He will fight anyone that wants to fight him, and he remains dangerous to any and every fighter in the division. Alot of people look at competition as a threat to him. I've made the point in the past....they really need to take a step back and say: "Could this European be a threat to beat this fighter?"

It's that simple. Because his punch and handspeed makes him a threat to knock anyone out, no matter how good their "Chin" is.

As we know......even if he unifies the titles, people will still be hating on him and looking for someone "American" to beat him so they can call him the "Champion" or whatever.

This is boxing, and I like to see matchups. I'm not a weekend fan that writes off European heavyweights.....simply because they aren't "American" and "I don't know who they are".

Take for Instance Brian Kenney. He's a douchebag that knows **** from shinola about boxing. He'll always find a heavyweight that he thinks will beat Wlad easily....because he really isin't familiar with how the game works.....and only likes household names.

Wlad is not a household name, but he's a real ****ing fighter.

the thing is that wlad is the one who finally realized that he had to be. when he says he wants 29 fights he says it knowing that he will have to do something very incredible to ever truly get the respect that he wants as a fighter.

i think wlad knows that the other champs dont want to fight him and he knows that he is going to at least alter his public persona a little bit cause he is gonna have to call these guys out. hes gonna have to put the pressure on them to get them to sign.

take for instance lyko, he knew wlad was fighting 3 weeks after he was, and he knew that wlad would most likely win. there was no reason to rush out and pick out kevin mcbride to fight when the possibility of an extremely lucrative unification bout was out there. to get lyko/wlad in the ring wlad is gonna have to open his mouth to the public, maybe even disrepspect his mama

valuev on the other hand is defending about a month and half from now. klitschko should get out there and start calling him out for a unification should he win. what does he have to lose??

hell klitschko didnt even break a sweat against byrd, he should sign a keep busy matchup for the night before valuev/beck, and call for the unification live on television.

Yeah first off.....the other champs aren't looking for him. I can gurantee that much. Simply because they can feed on guys they should beat easily. Oh and this whole "Craze" over Liakahovic is really strange and annoying.

I don't know what everyone sees in him...that would make them think he's even near worthy of standing in the ring with Wladimir. He's nowhere near as experienced, has faced nowhere near the level of opposition, and generally does not impress me. Of course you'll find the detractors that would like to hang on to his victory over Brewster....who in turn defeated Wladimir. Styles make fights so whatever.

I agree...in that Valuev should be a target. I also think Valuev would be on the short end of the stick, considering the fight would be in Germany. If anyone thinks the judges will favor the strange looking giant....given the fight goes to the cards: They're dead wrong. Even at that it's an easy chance for Wladimir to pick up the WBA title without really having to train hard for the fight. That's how superior he is.

The person he needs to fight is Rahman. Because there are many in the States who still believe he is the Heavyweight Champion...and he should dictate the terms. I'd love to see that fight because it would rid boxing of Rahman, and exchange titles into the correct hands. I don't like Rahman that much, and to be honest with you.....he's a boring fighter who is still clinging on to the 1 lucky punch he landed on Lennox Lewis.

Rahman held on to Lewis' title for a little bit, and Lewis went and got it back. The superior fighter should do just that when they fight.
