I got Verdejo. I think he would control the distance better. When Davis does get close Verdejo just can't let Davis go off. Verdejo would have to counter him (and move) and I think he would. Verdejo is pretty fast and he's countered lesser fighters when they were close to him and in the middle of throwing their combination. I could see him doing the same to Davis. Verdejo is fast and explosive, which could cause Davis problems imo. Verdejo's pretty good at catching lesser fighters with punches they don't see coming especially when they're coming in.
We will get a better idea as they face better competition.
I like the fight very much though.

I hope Verdejo can stay at 135 for a while. There are a lot of good interesting fights for him there.

Gervonta will take this. His last fight was at 131. He can campaign at lightweight comfortably. The kid is special, but I want him to spend some more time on defense too.

Gervonta is not a lesser fighter, as you call them. Verdejo looked **** in his last fight against the Brazilian. Davis ain't no joke. Hoping for their paths to cross soon.

When did I say Gervonta was a lesser fighter? What I meant is the level of fighters that Verdejo's been fighting and what he has been able to do against them. They are lesser as in they are not in Verdejo's level or are a few levels below Championship and contender level. There's level in boxing and contenders/prospects simply climb the ladder as their career goes on. I just didn't want to call them bums. You took it the wrong way. I don't know how else to explain to you, not really in the mood to break it down more.
Are fighters not allowed to look bad in a few fights? Do they have to look amazing in every single fight? Are they not allowed to learn from their fights? Verdejo showed several flaws in that fight and he has much to learn just like every boxer, especially ones that haven't had much pro experience.

I hope they do fight. I want to see good fights and I'm neutral so It would be better for me. I don't think Davis is a joke, I just gave my view on who I think would win at the moment and some things I could see Verdejo capitalize on. I'm sure you see things in Verdejo that Gervonta could capitalize on. Name them. I'm interested.
This is an intriguing fight to me. I think both have a good chance of winning. Hopefully we see it in a few years (not overcooked).

Like I said before. We will get a better idea as they keep stepping up. My view may change or someone may change their opinion after a few more fights.
We need to see a little more of them. We are going to see what they're really made of as they face better competition. It's a little too early to tell right now.

Gervonta isn't really on Verdejo level right now. Maybe with a few more fights he will be but right now he's a KO waiting to happen.

I agree not a fan of either. Not really impressing me despite fighting no hopers. I think they will lose once they step up

Thus far with the sample size body of their respective work, "the One" wins by ko but
                    fantastic fight regardless...

Verdejo has too much hand and foot speed and too much height and reach. The power's about equal. No contest, big V wins by an ass raping.
