$5m, with the fight on Sky Box Office in the UK (plus the gate revenue for a big fight, at either a football stadium or the O2) and aired on Showtime International in the US (possibly paired with Santa Cruz-Frampton from Barclays Center in NY or the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, for a day/night broadcast), isn't all that bad of a deal, tbf.

Kell Brook isn't as big a star as Anthony Joshua is at this point, but he does come to the table with a good amount of starpower in his own right (Brook-Gavin, an admittedly stacked show, was said to have done 400k PPV buys on Box Office).

Doing the conversion, Eddie Hearn is talking about Martin-Joshua doing ~$20m on PPV alone (and that's before figuring the gate, sponsors, etc). Brook-Garcia doing half the business isn't super outlandish.

$5m is about £3.5m, i don't think that's an unfair amount to ask for at all for a unification fight in the UK where the arena's sell out and it's not cheap tickets or free tickets like PBC. Plus Sky/Hearn driving up the PPV numbers.

Plus at the end of the day, Brook NEEDS a big fight, and in business sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. Should Brook beat Garcia, it can lead on to more bigger things. It's worth Hearn putting the money up if he believes in Brook. Considering the money Sky and Matchroom generate, i think it's a fair request from Garcia.

The real problem is that fighters are getting overpaid to beat bums, so they're gonna want much bigger money to fight a real opponent. I'm not a Garcia fan but i can't blame him. I wouldn't go work in a different job that is much harder work for the same money as i'm already getting. That's essentially what it is.

Half the the PPV goes to SKY so if they did $10 mil buys they'd have $5 mil, they can pay Garcia but what about Brook, the undercard, arena rental etc?

Froch-Groves did over £22 mil and they ended up taking £10mil (less than half) between them. Brook isn't going to take any less than what Garcia does so this fight would need to make $20 mil+ for them to get paid.

If this is true $5M seems reasonable. I had assumed Danny would be 100% opposed to go to the UK.

I am surprised US guys going to the UK isn't happening more. The UK is killing it these days & the fans are true boxing fans & super passionate. There is a lot of money for US guys crossing the pond with the US yawning about boxing nowadays.

To be honest i think it's useless us people on here speculating on the financial side of these big fights. Money comes in from all different angles, investors, sponsors, advertisements and they're just a few obvious things, i don't think it can be narrowed down to a few things in a couple of paragraphs.

TO go to the UK $5 millions would have to be his floor, it is really a pretty fair number to just throw out there.

pairing it with Bellew-Makabu for the WBC belt, at Goodison Park, would work. Add a meaningful fight for a guy like Luke Campbell, in addition to featuring the Liverpool-based fighters under the Matchroom umbrella and you've got a show.

                  show:
Bellew-Makabu (Sky Box Office main event, also for the live audience)
                  Brook-Garcia (Showtime International main event)

                  Campbell-Mendy II
                  Callum Smith-George Groves/Alexander Brand
                  rest of the undercard

5 mil seems fair but who knows. Danny's team could be posturing in order to settle for 3 to 4 mil. Which would be a nice paycheck.
