Comments Thread For: Martin: Joshua Not Ready, Will Tire Early And Get Knocked Out

Charles Martin doesn't think Anthony Joshua is ready for what he'll encounter Saturday night at a sold-out O2 Arena in London. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Martin predicted during a conference call Monday that Joshua will tire early in their scheduled 12-round fight for Martin's IBF heavyweight title and that he'll knock out the heavily hyped British contender.

For Martin to be hoping for or expecting Joshua to tire is a bad mindset and should be preparing for the best Joshua. He should be focusing on trying to nullify Joshua's strengths. I'm going with Joshua due to his pedigree and the fact that he does something FEW heavyweights do - the lost art of combination punching. He throws fast, hard combinations which is a thrill to see.

I don't see Martin as overconfident. I see him as just messing with Joshua's head. And we see he has gotten Joshua pizzed. And I do not think for a second Martin is underestimating Joshua. But he is showing Joshua he isn't afraid of him. And outside of Whyte, I think all of Joshua's opponents were scared of him. In my mind this is about a 50/50 even fight or maybe a 60/40 fight in Martin's favor. I'm just not going with the mindset he just has to be a bum because we know very little about him. One thing for sure, I'm glued to the TV starting 5pm Sat. This is a can't miss fight.
