Comments Thread For: Arum: Never Had an Undercard With The Significance of This One

Coming into this weekend as Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley meet for the third time at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, veteran promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank has focused much of his attention on the pay-per-view undercard that sees Gilberto Ramirez challenging WBO 168-pound titlist Arthur Abraham, Oscar Valdez versus former featherweight belt-holder Evgeny Gradovich, and lightweight Jose Ramirez taking on Manuel Perez in the opener.

That's so low, how he'll use an issue like illegal immigration and try to profit off of it.

Great job Arum. Put a bunch of Mexican prospects on and pretend it's some type of Cival Rights movement or something. Great thinking!

Literally no one is thinking about Donald Trump when it comes to a boxing card, no one.

If Trump has his way, come 2020 there'll be less Mexican boxers in America to compete and less talent overall in the sport. Make no mistake, this undercard IS significant and sends a message to Trump, and a relevant one too, as he's a boxing fan and not some out of touch politician who doesn't know who Wilder is. I'm sure a message will be read out at some stage during the event address Trump and his **** policies.

They will this time round, though, because he's being mentioned by promoters and will be part of the events theme. I wish boxing would do this more to highlight injustices. It could have a positive impact on society.
