One thing i've wondered is that how many TV sets are watching the fight? Or do they work it out by what they consider the average amount of people per household will be watching because if it was 3 million TV's, it's fair to say that could easily be 5 or 6 million watching at least...

Obviously buys is something you can gauge.

they use a 5000 household sample

it's not the most accurate way, but its the best you are going to get

i had relatives who don't watch boxing, texting me "are you watching the fight"

channel 5 will be pleased with the ratings

i wouldnt be shocked it itv gets back in on the action, i am hearing they are in talks with al haymon

boxing belongs on terrestrial tv (cable for you americans)

Golovkin would probably do 5M views in the UK deal with it

Yeah, i heard about Haymon having talks with ITV.

When was there last any big fights on ITV? i'm sure Calzaghe v Lacy was on ITV. I remember coming in drunk at about 2am and that fight was on. Such a late fight for a fight in the UK, although i suppose it was for the American TV too.
