Does Japan closely follow foreign boxing?

      Boxing isn't huge in Japan

      Foreign boxing even less so

Martial arts is obviously big, but culture is intertwined within these disciplines, whereas in boxing nothing of the like exists. Fans don't often cross over very often

It is quite big, certainly bigger than foreign boxing interest towards Japan. A lot of the big international fights are on WOWOW and the bigger fighters get mentioned in the Japanese boxing magazines. It's not HUGE but it's certainly not tiny, like the Japanese interest from the UK fans for example.
